Top Yorkshire Wedding Venues | Professional Photographer Recommendations

After almost 10 years of wedding photography experience in Yorkshire and beyond, it’s fair to say that I’ve photographed lots of wedding venues. Based in Harrogate, most are in and around the North Yorkshire area. I am so lucky that I am spoilt for venues around where I live which means I get to photograph weddings at some many beautiful places; everything from rustic barns to elegant hotels to outdoor wedding ceremonies.

The Sun Pavilion, Harrogate

To kick things off is one of my favourite venues in my hometown, Harrogate; The Sun Pavilion. As it's on the doorstep of The Valley Gardens, this venue is a beautiful fairytale style setting for your wedding. With it's colourful art-deco dome, outdoor ceremony setting and big glass windows it is the perfect backdrop for gorgeous bright photographs. There are so many photo opportunities, it is the perfect spot for the romantic couples!

The Hospitium, York Museum Gardens

My next wedding venue on this list is The Hospitium in central York.

The Hospitium is a historic building in the York Museum Gardens, with views of St. Marys Abbey ruins and greenery. On the inside, The Hospitium reminds me of walking in to a historic fairytale with it's high ceilings and rustic beams that can be decorated with fairy lights, candles and rose petals. Whilst you sneak off to get some wedding photos that'll be the envy of your friends, your guests can enjoy a drink outside in the beautiful gardens. You could even hire a professional musician for the perfect elegant ambience (I'd highly recommend Stephanie Harpist pictured below!)

Rudding Park Hotel, Harrogate

My third recommendation is an iconic wedding venue from my hometown of Harrogate, Rudding Park Hotel.

Rudding Park has a quaint historic Chapel onsite with a breathtaking backdrop for the Bride and Groom as they receive a blessing. The reception can then be held in one of their elegant function rooms where the staff will ensure you have the perfect day. Outside, there are plenty of photo opportunities from the natural greenery, flower moon-arch or you can even take a trip on a rowing boat to a small island for insta-perfect wedding photos!

Rudding Park is the perfect venue for couples looking for a grand, stylish wedding venue.

Whinstone View, Great Ayton

My next venue recommendation is Whinstone View, Great Ayton.

Whinstone View is a rustic barn in North Yorkshire and once decorated in flowers and fairy lights provides a beautifully relaxed and romantic setting for your wedding. It has a large outdoor terrace and grass area for your guests to enjoy a summer drink and garden games and the central willow tree makes a lovely backdrop for those important family photos. You can also stay in one of their log cabins (with a hot tub!)

If you want those extra special photos, Whinstone is also just a short drive away from Roseberry Topping.

This venue is perfect for a couple who want the rustic and romantic wedding surrounded by their family and friends having fun!

The Pavilions of Harrogate

My fifth venue recommendation is another venue with the option of having an outdoor ceremony: The Pavilions of Harrogate.

The Pavilions is a beautiful venue with views of greenery. If the weather is right, you can get married in the White Pavilion outside which makes for the most stunning backdrop to say your vows. There is a huge outdoor space for your guests to enjoy garden games and spacious rooms indoors for your guests to party the night away in!

This venue is perfect for the couple wanting a large wedding or a private wedding away from the public.
